A few weeks ago, my friend Aiden who lives in Pennsylvania came to visit me in Las Vegas with his friends Kevin and Matt. We had a great time exploring. Here is a recap of our adventures:
Day One
In-N-Out
Kevin and Matt had tried In-N-Out, but since Aiden had never tried In-N-Out before, he was excited to give it a shot—and he loved it! The boys loved how affordable it was.
Canteen Food Hall
Aiden and I got dinner from the Canteen Food Hall at the Rio Hotel where he was staying. I got chicken tenders with blue cheese sauce from Tender Crush. I had gotten it before and liked it a lot. Aiden got Southland Burrito Co. He got a California bowl with pollo asado, fries, cheese, French fries, guacamole, beans, jalapeno crema, and cilantro. He liked a lot as well.
Criss Angell Mindfreak
Aiden and his friends went to see Criss Angell. They loved it a lot. Aiden said that it was the best magic show that he has seen.
Day Two
Cake Boss Cake Vending Machine
Aiden and I found a cake vending machine with cake slices created by Cake Boss who is a famous pastry chef in the Rio hotel. I had seen these vending machines all over the strip but never tried it. We shared a unique layered cake that had three different flavors in it. The flavors were cheesecake, blondie, and confetti cake with frosting in between the layers. It was so rich and decadent. My favorite part was the blondie layer.
Mob Museum
Aiden and Kevin really wanted to go to the Mob Museum, so we decided to check it out. Walking through the exhibits, we learned all about the history of organized crime in Las Vegas, from famous mobsters to undercover sting operations. The interactive displays and real historical artifacts made it one of the most fascinating experiences of the trip.
The Underground
The Underground was a speakeasy underneath the Mob Museum. I had never been to a speakeasy before, so I was excited to go to one. It was an amazing experience. There was live music and really good cocktails. They also make their own moonshine. I got a cocktail with cherry, cream, and vanilla moonshine. It was smooth, flavorful, and unlike anything I had tried before.
Freemont Street
After the Mob Museum we decided to walk around Fremont Street for a bit soaking in the energy of the old-school Vegas vibe. I do not go to Fremont Street very much, so it was a lot of fun to be there.
Pinkbox Donuts
Me and Aiden decided to share a donut from Pinkbox Donuts at the Plaza Hotel. We got the Crème Brulé Donut. The crisp caramelized topping combined with the creamy custard filling made it an unforgettable treat.
Day Three
We liked Fremont Street so much that for the last night we decided to go back.
Evel Pie
I had seen this Evel Knievel pizza place all over Instagram, so I wanted to try it. I got a plain cheese slice. e crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce was rich, and the cheese melted just right—it was exactly what I was craving.
Park on Fremont
Arter dinner we went to get drinks at Parc on Fremont. I got the mocktail version of the Pillow Talk. It has prickly pear syrup, lime juice, strawberries, cucumber, mint, lemon, and orange. I loved it. It was super refreshing. I loved the prickly pear syrup.
I loved this trip! It was so much fun to experience Las Vegas with the best food reviewer in the area!
