Announcing “Exploring Vegas” at Jessica’s Reviews

Real Reviews by Jessica, Never “Sponsored”

I have an exciting announcement! By now my loyal readers know I love exploring the Strip. Of course millions of people a year go there, but I have a personal perspective of a college student studying hospitality management in Las Vegas itself, no more than a half a mile from the Strip.  Of course there is a lot to see and do there, and that is why it one of the leading tourist designations worldwide, if not the most popular of all. So, here’s the announcement… now I am starting and exciting series of articles about things to do on the Strip and my thoughts on them.

These are going to be honest Vegas reviews, not sponsored, so you will get the real deal here.  I decided that the best way to do that and cover a lot of the popular or off-the beaten track things to do in the resort hotels is to make it an ongoing series called “Exploring Vegas”. You can find my reviews in the same-titled tab at the top of each page on this site.

Of course I may change up these plans, but the basic idea is that I will be going to different resorts and venues on the Las Vegas Strip and discussing some of features and fun things to do at each hotel. By the end of the year you will have plenty of ideas about what to do in Las Vegas if you are visiting of even a local like me. I will be going to some of my favorite places as well as doing some things I have always wanted to do but never gotten to experience before.

Exploring The Venetian Las Vegas – Birthday Style

First up is one of my favorites: The Venetian. For this “Exploring Vegas” review I went over there with some of my friends.

As the name implies, The Venetian is a beautiful resort complex with a Venice, Italy theme. It really makes it look like you are walking through a glamourous Italian town.

Dinner at BRERA osteria

BRERA osteria

BRERA osteria” is a fun restaurant that feels like a relaxing outdoors café on a plaza in Italy.  And, yes that is the way that they spell it. The cuisine is Italian, which we felt was appropriate, since the ambiance feels like Italy. In one word, it was: amazing. I had been to this restaurant before about four years earlier in pre-COVID times with my parents, but could not remember it.

For my entrée, I ordered the pesto pasta and it was one of the best pastas I have ever had. Also the location was amazing. You could see street performers from our table. One was singing Italian opera tunes. They also had Martinelli’s which is a sparkling apple cider to drink. I had never seen that offered at a restaurant before. I love Martinelli’s so I was  super happy. I want to go back. They also have vegan options which is good because my friend Michaella is vegan.

Dessert at Sloan’s Ice Cream

For dessert I suggested that we go to Sloan’s. I had tried this place a long time ago at their San Diego location and really liked it. Unfortunately it was not as good as I remembered. It just tasted like normal ice cream, nothing special. I have had way better. I do not think it was worth the money.

Gondolas

There are gondolas that we went on to match with the Venice theme . There was a gondolier who rowed the boat and sang to us.  It was an amazing experience. We did it outside and we got to see all the lights of the gondolas. Our gondolier even sang happy birthday to Emily. It was truly an amazing experience.

Overall I would say that you can have an amazing time with an Italian-themed adventure at the Venetian resort. If you are in Las Vegas I would highly recommend exploring around the resort. It is such a beautiful hotel to stay in or visit. Also, if anyone has some ideas for things you are interested in me covering in my Exploring Vegas series feel free to comment down below.
