Le Petit Prince- French Cuisine Review

Le Petit Prince- French Cuisine Review

This is the second of my series of restaurant reviews in a cultural journey around the world. For the first in the series try some innovative Cantonese / Kosher Cuisine.

I decided to do French Cuisine for round 2 of the journey. I love French food and it is one of my  favorite cuisines so I was verry excited about this. I went to Le Petit Prince with my dad and step mom. It is a French resteraunt in Henderson. My dad found this place and was wanting to try it.

Style of service – i.e., casual/fine dining

This restaurant has a casual style of service. French restaurants are typically more fine dining so this was a nice change from typical French restaurant.  However,  prices were reasonable. Typically French food is much more expensive. It was also a casual atmosphere. It was a nice change from typical French places.

Specialty food/beverage items on the menu

There are a lot of ethnic specialty foods on the menu. Some examples of this are Croque Monsieur, Crapes, and Croque Madame. This was a very traditional French restaurant.

What we ordered

We tried a lot of food at this restaurant. There were so many good options it was hard to choose.  We tried French Onion Soup, Goat Cheese Salad, Savory Crepes, Creme Brule, and Macaroons. All of the food was super good.

Review

I liked the food a lot. My dad and step mom got French Onion Soup as an appetizer. I liked it a lot. The cheese melted on top of the bread.   I love brie so I tried an apple and brie crepe. It was so good. The apple and brie was the perfect combination. The brie also added a creamy element to it.  My favorite part was the Crème brûlée . There was freshly torched sugar on top. The custard was super good as well. It was a good balance of cold and warm.  Finally, there were complimentary complimentary macarons that came with the check. I had a lemon one and my dad had pistachio. They were super soft and the filling was super flavorful.

The ambiance was super cute. There were pictures of France all over the restaurant. Also it is a small restaurant with not a lot of tables. It is owned by a couple who moved here from France. It also had a French flag on the outside of the restaurant. It was a nice local restaurant.

The service was also amazing. All the food came out quickly and the macaroons at the end were a nice touch. I also got to meet the couple who owns the restaurant. They stopped and talked to us for a bit. Also when my dad stopped by a few days earlier he met the owner as well. They met while they were in culinary school in France and then moved to Las Vegas in March of last year.

Would you return to the restaurant in the future? Why or why not?

I would absolutely return to this restaurant. The first reason I would return is to have another Crème brûlée. It was so good. Another reason that I want to go back is that the owners were so nice. Finally it is nice to support a local restaurant.
