I went to see part one of the Wicked movie recently. A few years ago, when I found out Wicked was being split into two parts I was worried that this could make it fall short of the Broadway musical. I published an article called “Don’t Ruin Wicked”. Now, let us find out if splitting it into two parts was a good decision.
Outfit
For the movie I decided to do a Glinda outfit. I got a pink dress off amazon. I also made a pink Glinda inspired bracelet with pink and pearl. I loved the outfit so much.
Theater
I went to one of my favorite movie theaters, Cinépolis, to see the Wicked movie. Cinépolis is an upscale movie theater where you can order food at your seat by just pressing a button. A server would come to your seat and take your order.
Food
For lunch I got an Apple Berry Salad. I loved this salad. I like salads with fruit in them. The best part was the grilled chicken that I added to it.
Actors
I loved all the acting in this movie. My favorite actress was Cynthia Erivo. I loved her acting and singing.
Best Moment
There were so many good moments in the movie. My favorite moment was when Idina Manzell and Kristin Chenoweth who were in the original musical had a part in “One Short Day”. It was so amazing to get to see them in this movie.
Soundtrack
I got to listen to the soundtrack before the movie came out. The soundtrack made me so excited for the movie. My favorite song on the soundtrack was “Defying Gravity”. Hearing extremely reimagined was an amazing experience since I am such a huge fan of the original.
Consensus
In conclusion, I did love the movie. However, I still think that they should not have split it into two parts. I think that the reason for doing this was to get more money out of fans. If the original musical is 2 hours and 45 minutes part one of the movie which is only half the story should not be 2 hours and 40 minutes.
