U Shabu- Japanese Cuisine Review

U Shabu- Japanese Cuisine Review

This is my last review of my round the world. For the end of the semester my class was treated to Shabu Shabu. It was such a fun experience.

Go check out my first review here Kosher Chinglish, my second review here Le Petit Prince, my third article here Kassi Beach House, and my fourth one South of Nicks

Shabu- shabu is a Japanese style restaurant where you cook  meat yourself in a broth. You then add vegetables and noodles to it.  I remember going to Shabu- shabu when I was younger but have not been for a long time. I was excited to try it again.

Appetizers

Corn Cheese

This was my first-time trying corn cheese. I liked it a lot. It was so creamy and cheesy. It kind of reminded me of Mexican elote.

Garlic Edamame

I love garlic edamame, so I wanted to try them. I liked them but the corn cheese was better.

Meats

We got rib eye and brisket. It was thinly sliced meat that could be cooked in broth for a few seconds to be fully cooked.

Miso Broth

I chose miso broth for mine. I love Japanese food, so I was excited to try this. It was super good. I added udon noodles and vegetables to it as well. After I was done cooking the meat I got to eat the broth and vegetables together as a soup.  It was truly a unique dining experience.

Cheesecake

For dessert there were mini cheesecakes. I tried a raspberry and a chocolate chip one. I love cheesecake so I was excited to try this. They were super creamy and not too sweet. The only thing that I would change is that there was not a lot of crust. My favorite one was the raspberry one.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I had an amazing time at U Shabu. It was truly a unique dining experience. I would love to go back sometime.
